It's cliche, but true. First impressions are important. They really are. How we speak, how we carry ourselves in a conversation is important. So, too, is what we wear. It is an outward representation of who we are on the inside. A woman who wears fashionable and unique clothing is someone who obviously appreciates as much and might subscribe to RSS feeds or magazines on the subject and probably has a good catalog of designers that she can spin off on command. This is true for the men, too. This has got me thinking, though, about my own wardrobe… I think I need a review. You see, kids, I'd went out on to meet a girl for a date, turned out it really wasn't like that… Oh well. Anyway, I thought I looked good, I got a few compliments which was nice. It wasn't until after the date that I took another look at what I was wearing… I was wearing things I've had for a year or so… I mean, that's not really a problem. I'm not wearing anything outdated; simply a tweed jacket, a weird tshirt, jeans and some addidas (no laughing, it works… I think.)
What look do I like to go for? If it's more formal, I prefer something classic looking, so I'll don a blazer and button up shirt, when the occasion calls for it. If it's more relaxed and casual, I still like to wear a jacket, if it makes sense, I'll wear a button down, with a tshirt and some sneakers… I mean, nothing out there or anything… Vests and skinny ties are pretty popular at the moment and I do like the look. It's not too fancy and is just the right amount of casual.
So I guess I'm just reviewing what I have and seeing what I can do to refresh my casual wardrobe. My work attire is over powering my closet at the moment… I'd like to balance that out.
No, I'm not wearing anything from Ed Hardy or anything with “Affliction” or Tap Out on the material… Though, I think it would be funny to “bro it up” one day… That could be a Halloween costume.
Until next time, stop looking like a jerk!
