When Bloggers Connect…

You may have read about it a few weeks ago, but the Urban Dater helped put together an intimate Blogger get together out at Bar Melody over in LA… Right near the airport in fact! It was really the first sort of event that I had put together and over all, I had a really, really good time and got to meet some people I knew online but never met face-to-face.

The good folks at Bar Melody really stepped it up by providing a special tasting menu and drinks just for us Bloggers. They took really good care of our crew. It was awesome.

I wished the evening could have been longer, as I don't feel like I had a chance to talk to everyone as much as I would have liked. Meeting DirtyInPublic, theQuestFor50 and MyLifeOnMatch in real life (IRL) was pretty awesome.

There was a lot of lively discussion throughout the night, too. I was able to have a brief chat with AV Flox about the So. Cal. blogging community and how to bring the parties together. The woman's mind works a million miles a second and I need to catch up with her on that topic, as it's one I'm always thinking about.

Emily and I talked about monetizing strategies for a blog and things one can do to generate more interest or capitalize on those things that are already of interest to your readers. Again, I wish I had more time here. But Emily is lovely and a joy to talk to. On that note, there were a lot of damn fine women at this shindig. I'm just sayin'.

As the night winded down, there was a lot of discussion about the  Manosphere , which has gained a great deal of momentum and increased its voice significantly over the past year or so. QuestFor50 had some interesting takes on characteristics inherent to Men and Women and attraction. As you might expect from someone a part of the Manosphere, he spoke with confidence and conviction. Everyone (DirtyInPublic, SingleTease, BadOnlineDates, and MissMelisaMae) listened and participated and had their ideas challenged and at one point, the discussion even got a bit heated. But what do you expect when you get Bloggers together?

All in all it was a great night and I got to meet some amazing people and fellow bloggers. Hopefully we can all meet up again and soon!

  1. Great meeting you and the rest of the gang. It was indeed a lively discussion.

As far as linking to a site that represents the Manosphere, you'd do better using these as a jumping off point than "PUA Vault" (which I've never even read):
